Programs
The clinic will be led by Kristopher (Kris) O’Brien. Kris played four years of varsity basketball at Hudson High School, winning two league championships in 2018 and 2019; the latter year having a record of 22-3 which is a school record. He then went on to play 4 years of collegiate basketball at Rhodes College, a Division 3 school in Memphis, TN. After college, he coached two years of 8th grade basketball at Hudson High and now helps on the varsity team with scouting and skill development.
Joining Kris will be volunteers from the Hudson High School Basketball program.
The goal of this clinic will be to ignite interest in basketball in a way that is engaging, educational, and inspirational for the next generation of Hudson players. At its core, the clinic will emphasize fun first. The number one priority is that every participant leaves each day excited to come back, learn more, and play basketball again. From there, the clinic would focus on player development—building strong fundamentals, improving decision-making, and helping players gain confidence in game-like situations.
Structurally, the clinic will be organized around specific skill themes (shooting, ball-handling, finishing, defense, and game IQ), while still connecting everything back to how the game is actually played. Each day will include dynamic warm-ups, skill breakdowns with teaching points, competitive drills that reward effort and decision-making, and controlled gameplay to apply what was learned.
Another key pillar of the clinic will be building a sense of community within Hudson basketball. This goes beyond just on-court instruction. The goal is to help players feel connected to the larger Hudson basketball family
Overall, this clinic will be about creating a positive, high-energy environment that develops skills, builds confidence, and strengthens the Hudson basketball community.
Participants must be entering Grades 5-8 in September 2026.
Participants who register by June 5th will receive a T-Shirt.
