Programs

Hudson Recreation Unified Programs are designed to offer participants, regardless of developmental challenges, a collaborative yet competitive, skill-based interactive social learning experience. Unified programs are intended to foster physical activity, independence, self-confidence and teamwork as participants develop new skill-sets with support from staff/volunteers. Participants who may not thrive in a traditional sports-team/league setting may benefit from the Unified Programs. Unified programs are open to children/young adults.

Program is for those in 2nd grade and above. For those in Kindergarten or 1st grade, please check out our COED K-1 Program which takes place on Saturday mornings. More information is available on our web site. Non-residents welcomed; additional fees apply

The program will take place Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:00pm-7:15pm at the Quinn Middle School, starting December 2nd.

For the month of December, the program will only meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Historically, Saturdays have been added to the schedule after the first of the year. Once a final schedule is created, we will distribute it to those registered.

Dates, times, and locations are all subject to change.

Registration must be completed online or at the Recreation Office.

The success of our programs is due in large part to the commitment of our volunteers. Unified Volunteers MUST be at least in 5th grade AND be able to fulfill the responsibilities of being a Volunteer (see below). If interested in volunteering, please register and select the "Volunteer" option under Fees

Role of a Volunteer – On a Unified Sports Team, everyone makes a commitment, knows the rules, does their best, and is a good teammate and team player. Volunteers have a special job, that being to encourage our athletes and facilitate their learning process. Volunteers could be matched with a participant or group of participants. Volunteers will be actively involved in game play and socialization aspects of the program. Volunteers understand how to blend their skills with other teammates, resulting in improved performance by athletes. Volunteers should be available for as many of the practices and games as possible. The more often a volunteer is present the more the volunteer and the participants they establish a rapport with will get out of the program. No experience is necessary in the sport. For adults, volunteering is a great way to give back to the Hudson community. For students, volunteering hours could count toward community service requirements.
