Programs

Recreation Instructional Youth Basketball programs are intended to promote the fundamentals of basketball, but more importantly fun and exercise.

This level builds upon the fundamentals of our Kindergarten / Grade 1 program and introduces players to “game situations” on an 8’ basket. Basic basketball skills and strategies will be introduced. Learning and building on the fundamentals are still the top priority of this level. In addition to weekly practices, each Saturday session in December will consist of “mini-clinics” followed by a 20-minute game. Starting in January, every Saturday session will consist of a "full" game.

Registration must be completed online or at the Recreation Office by Friday, October 31st. Registrations received after October 31st will be accepted only if space is available (a late fee of $20.00 per child will be charged per participant).

During the season, teams will be scheduled for one weeknight practice and one Saturday game. We will schedule each team for 1-2 pre-season practices. Practices will start the week of November 17th. Exact days and times for practices will not be set until we’ve secured enough Head Coaches for each team in each respective division. Games begin December 6th. The full schedule should be announced by December 1st.

There are no cuts in Rec Basketball. Everyone makes a team.

Game Days: Saturdays, December 6th - February 14th.
